Recruitment Announcement at Digifarms Africa

Position: Community Agents

Introduction

The management of Digifarms Africa wishes to inform eligible Cameroonian nationals that the enterprise is need of the services 50 eligible applicants to serve as Community Agents for the enterprise across the national territory of Cameroon. The offer is open to Cameroonian nationals aged 18-45 located anywhere across the national territory of Cameroon.

About The Offer                  

Community Agents or Community Mobilizers are a vital Component of our work at Digifarms Africa. They are our on-ground agents that serve for the registration of eligible agricultural enterprises unto the central farmer database of Digifarms Africa. They are responsible for identification, profiling, registration and follow-up of agriculture and agriculture related enterprises in Cameroon unto the central Database and sales platforms. They engage with our farmers on a daily basis and serve as channels of information relating to the smooth flow of the relationship between Digifarms Africa and its network of Agri-commodity suppliers. For the present call for applications, selected Candidates shall be required to work remotely from any part of the Cameroon national territory and shall be placed under the coordination of the enterprise Executive Director pending the appointment of the Digifarms Africa Head of Operations.

Eligibility

The current position is open to applicants who meet the following criteria

  • Must be A Cameroonian National aged 18-45. This should be backed by the possession of a National Identity Card. (Candidates without a National Identity Card are still encouraged to apply provided they agree to be accompanied by the Enterprise for the acquisition of one. The cost shall be born entirely by the candidate or to be deducted from the remuneration package to be offered to the candidate if selected. This shall be agreed upon by the Candidate and the enterprise after selection).
  • Must be living in and based in Cameroon
  • Must have an excellent understanding of the English Language or French or Both
  • Must have either a good quality Android Phone or a laptop computer (Candidates without any of the two are still encouraged to apply provided they agree to be accompanied by the Enterprise for the acquisition of one in this case a good quality Android Phone. The details relating to the process for the acquisition of the device are contained in the application form).
  • Should be based in an area with stable internet connection.
  • Must have a Mobile Money or Orange Money Account registered in their name and be able to receive money therein. (Candidates without a Mobile Money or Orange Money account are still encouraged to apply provided they agree to be accompanied by the Enterprise for the setting up of either a Mobile Money or Orange Money account)

Remuneration

Selected Community Agents shall receive service remuneration amounting to FCFA1000 for every supplier entry submitted and approved. Payment for approved entries is typically made weekly and is usually paid into the Mobile Money or Orange Money account of the Community Agent within the first 2-3 days of the following week. All unapproved entries shall carry an explanatory note as to the factors for the non-approval. This remuneration amount can either be increased or in rare cases decreased and this shall be based on the strength and quality of the entry submitted. Strength here shall be used to refer to factors like the number of products produced by the enterprise, the approximate market strength of the enterprise and range of other factors. Our upper remuneration limit however stands at of FCFA2000 and baseline remuneration limit of FCFA500. Our standard remuneration amount is FCFA1000. Agents that receive remuneration above FCFA1000 for any entry shall also receive an explanatory note as to the factors for the additional amounts provided.

Application Deadline

We typically receive applications on a rolling basis but applications that come after the previous application review session are usually considered only in the next review session. The first application review session for the present call is expected to be on the 15th of May 2026 after which the first set of 30 successful applicants shall be shortlisted and contacted. The next session is expected to hold within one month or two after the first. The Digifarms Africa application review panel reserves the right to extend, Shorten or maintain the deadlines stated herein based on their discretion and number of applications received.
